Bug 72892 – New vi_VN locale for glibc

I would like to replace glibc's vi_VN with a new one. The new vi_VN has been submitted on glibc bug tracking system. But it may take long time to be approved (there are some other locales still waiting).
There are no much change to make new vi_VN into Gentoo. Just one line added and one file to files.
I have tested it. No problem so far.

Is there any progress on this? I think this bug is not that too complicated. It's just a replacement of vi_VN

I'm a little apprehensive about adding in other locales as I don't use them, so I can't test them.  Your best bet would be pushing to get it included in upstream's 2.3.6 release

latest glibc (2.6 atm) includes vi_VN ... this addresses your needs right ?
