Description David Lloyd 2004-11-29 10:31:07 UTC
I've noticed that the single quote ' charater and backtick ` character have been replaced from xfree 4.3.0 to xorg 6.8.0 in the LucidiaTypewriter font to characters that are nearly visually indistinguishable from each other. Would it be possible to go back to the original glyphs for this font?

Using this font spec:

-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-*-*-*-12-*-75-75-m-*-iso8859-1

Could you attach a screenshot of the 4.3.0 version for comparison?

A coworker happened to still be running xfree, so here it is. It's the
bottommost line on the screenshot.

Maybe you can take a look at xorg's cvs to see whether the font files have actually changed. Or diff them from 4.3.0 to present. Otherwise, it's probably a rendering change.

This seems likely a change in freetype.

Stale dead bug.
