new gst-plugin ebuilds (esd, alsa and oss included) with digests

Currently Rhythmbox is broken (media library never finishes updating its song
list) and accoring to this bug:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159883

gst-plugins 0.8.6 should fix this.

I've attached a file that you can untar into /usr/local/portage with the new
ebuilds. The only thing I removed is the TCP patch from gst-plugins-0.8.5-r1 (I
think it's fixed in 8.6)

This worked swell for me

gst-plugins-musepack-0.8.6.ebuild

gst-plugins 0.8.6 now supports musepack audio. The attachment is an ebuild for
this plugin, with media-libs/libmusepack-1.0.3 (stable version in portage) as
dependency.
gst-plugins.eclass must be modified too, adding "musepack" to the plugins list.
Comment 4 Giacomo Perale 2004-12-22 04:21:59 UTC
I'm sorry, musepack plugin compiles, but I can't get it working with .mpc files I've got. Both totem and rhythmbox hang when I play a musepack file.
Comment 5 Giacomo Perale 2004-12-22 11:48:48 UTC
UPDATE

applying this patch (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=34460&action=view) to gstreamer 0.8.7 fixes the problem.
now rhytmbox (CVS) and totem can play mpc files and nautilus do the audio preview when leaving the mouse over the icon.
Comment 6 Giacomo Perale 2004-12-22 11:51:38 UTC
sorry, this is the gnome bug report with the patch I linked, if someone is interested: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158162
Comment 7 Sebastian Dröge 2004-12-22 12:34:46 UTC
Works for me... when will these ebuilds be included in the portage tree?

gst-plugins and gst-plugins-musepack do not compile for me. I'll post the errors upon request.
Comment 10 Juan 2005-01-02 22:55:43 UTC
My bad. I had the wrong version of libmusepack installed.. However, when playing back *.mpc files, the sound contains static. Other sound files play fine.
Comment 11 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-08 18:15:16 UTC
fixed, including new mpc plugin
