Description Corvin Wimmer 2004-11-28 07:00:29 UTC
The 2004.3 LiveCD freezes on the AsusM6N after it has finished booting. It stays normal for abour 30-60 seconds. The cursor still continues to blink but it won't take any keyboard input (not even keys such as num lock and display brightness work).
This also happens when turning off hardware detection, using agpgart or acpi, nofb or no apic.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot 2004.3
3. Try any kernel/options
2. Wait until it freezes

Actual Results:
The LiveCD freezes and I have to restart the laptop.

Expected Results:
It should not have frozen.

I used the minimal LiveCD, but expect that the universal will also show the same
behavior.

Try 2004.3-r1
Comment 2 Corvin Wimmer 2004-12-01 15:26:31 UTC
It seems to show the same behavior with 2004.3-r1
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-02 05:44:57 UTC
Try "gentoo-nofb nosmp noapic acpi=off pnpbios=off" and see what happens (with the 2004.3-r1 CD)...
Comment 4 DELACOUR Guillaume 2005-01-06 07:46:12 UTC
It seems what is the same.
-> Freeze
Comment 5 Corvin Wimmer 2005-01-12 13:05:57 UTC
Using "gentoo-nofb nosmp noapic acpi=off pnpbios=off" doesn't help either.
Comment 6 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-03 09:23:03 UTC
Was this fixed in 2005.0?
