I'm not sure if this is an AMD64 thing, a glibc 2.3.4 20041102 thing, or some combination of the two, but dancer won't build for me (either 31p8 or the more current 35) because it fails to detect libresolv. It is asking for res_mkquery, which is a macro in resolv.h, and gets redefined to __res_mkquery. Here's a patch that actually tries to link against lresolv using resolv.h. This is against the 1.0.35 configure.ac.
Created attachment 44849 [details, diff] patch for finding lresolv more reliably
I don't need this patch for 1.0.35 on x86 to build properly, so I guess it's a problem specific to amd64.
Are there qualms with removing this from the tree? AFAIK it's been unmaintained for quite some time..
This should go /dev/null way...
swegener, jokey, if you guys don't mind I'd like to punt this, its old and unmaintained, and there are better IRCd's out there. Freenode is modding hybrid to have their umodes so I don't see the point in keepthing this.
This package is currently package.mask'ed (as requested) and pending removal on 16th September 2006.
