Six months ago I've submitted a bug (Bug 52362) about non-existing packages. Now armed with more portage knowledge I'd like to give it a retry. If no-one could give us a good explaination *why* these packages are in the global mask could someone please remove them? As far as I know are non-existing packages automatically masked, developers who need to mask packages in their portage-overlay should use /etc/portage/package.mask instead. I've used the following script: for PKG in $(egrep -v '^#' /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask |egrep -v '^$') ; do emerge -p $PKG done|grep 'no ebuild' output: emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "net-misc/nforce-net". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "www-apps/spider-admin". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "app-office/mozilla-sunbird". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-analyzer/libnasl-2.1*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-analyzer/nessus-libraries-2.1*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-analyzer/nessus-plugins-2.1*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-analyzer/nessus-2.1*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-analyzer/nessus-core-2.1*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=media-libs/sdl-mixer-1.2.5-r2". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "<dev-util/subversion-1.0.3". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=games-emulation/zsnes-1.37_pre20041220". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-devel/gcc-3.3.3_pre20040426". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=gnome-base/gnome-2.6_p1". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=gnome-base/gnome-2.6.2_p1". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=media-gfx/gimp-print-5.0.0_beta1". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=games-arcade/pachi-20000000". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-devel/gcc-3.3.3_pre20040322". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-devel/oskit-20020317". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-apps/attr-2.4.8". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "<x11-misc/xscreensaver-4.14-r2". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=dev-util/tla-20040113". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.2". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=dev-util/eclipse-sdk-bin-1.0". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=net-print/foomatic-2000". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=net-print/foomatic-db-engine-2000". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=net-print/foomatic-filters-2000". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=mail-client/sylpheed-claws-0.9.5-r1". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=net-fs/openafs-1.3*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=app-portage/ufed-0.40". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=sys-devel/gcc-config-1.4". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=mail-client/evolution-1.3*". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=gnome-extra/gtkhtml-3.0". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "sys-apps/pcmcia-cs-tools". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "sys-apps/pcmcia-cs-drivers". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=media-video/realplayer-8-r3". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=app-text/djvu-3.5.9-r1". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-apps/pcmcia-cs-3.2.1-r2". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-apps/pcmcia-cs-3.2.2". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=sys-devel/bison-1.75". emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-1.5.27-r5".
