Status file for 30:24:32:45:BF:77

The system writes at a rate of 0,5 MB/sec to /var/lib/bluetooth/00:1A:7D:DA:71:15/cache/30:24:32:45:BF:77, slowly killing my SSD.

The bluetooth device is a common USB dongle, the other end is a Windows 10 laptop (currently in sleep mode). Looks like (almost?) the same file content is written about every 30 seconds. Files in the same directory for a headset and an Android phone do not show this behaviour.

I couldn't find a proper upstream bug tracker or selective key words for a google search.

Seems like using /var/cache may be a good idea.

Please report this directly to upstream mailing list
http://www.bluez.org/development/lists/

Thanks

No feedback 4 days after posting on the mailing list (https://marc.info/?l=linux-bluetooth&m=159042662909866&w=2). Do you have any contacts for approaching developers personally? The mailing list is flooded with patch postings that also get no visible feedback and discussion.

I am glad to do additional investigation that can get us at the root cause, but I need some guidance.

I don't have any contact... but maybe in their IRC channel it could be easier

Szymon Janc just published a patch which fixes this issue
