When I want to start gramps it tells me: bash-2.05a$ gramps /usr/bin/python: can't open file '/usr/share/gramps/gramps.py' This is correct, because I saw during output it installed in /usr/share direct... Probably einstall doesn't work correct for this ebuild.. Regards, Rigo
Yes, this is a shame because it's a really good program. This is how I got it working: emerged gramps from konsole and looked at which files it was installing to /usr/share. tried to create directory /usr/share/gramps - this failed because ther is an xml file /usr/share/gramps - renamed this to gramps1 mkdir /usr/share/gramps. Move all files listed in konsole output for /usr/share to /usr/share/gramps - renaming gramps1 to gramps afterwards. move /usr/share/{data,filters,plugins} to /usr/share/gramps Yipee! it works. The ebuild looks a bit sparse and I'm not clever enough to fix that - I wish someone would.
Created attachment 3691 [details] gramps-0.8.0.ebuild :-D Problem solved...
A *masked* gramps 0.8.0 has been cvs committed. Like gramps, unmask and give it a try. Otherwise, wait for the freeze to be over.
