There is no need for both a gtk-perl and gtk-glade-perl ebuild - this should be streamlined into a single ebuild that just does a better job of checking depends. Should also be streamlined to only include the portions of gtk-perl that the user has need for/can support (within reason...user must have gtk installed :) )
This is already being worked on...
Created attachment 3763 [details] gtk-perl-0.7008-r5.tar.gz Used hint in Bug #5091 to make an ebuild that compiles for me...Included ebuild+changelog Regards, Rigo
untested, but there seems to be a solution: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=18652&highlight=gtkperl&sid=566ce6a31f 4037ed73f1e2383b8efeeb
this bug was actually to help remind me to tweak the gtk ebuild so that it didn't have to install gnome. as that fix has been committed, closing this. perl 5.8 has other upstream problems that will need to be addressed external to this bug.
