I don't get any error messages, it seems like that i simply don't have a mouse device with any kernel version >= 2.6 on my laptop; That wasn't such a big problem since gentoo also had 2.4 kernel sources and i could use that. Still i want to use 2.6 kernel for the new features. I tried online help without succes at both the general, and the laptop specific mIRC channel.

Steps to Reproduce:
any time boot my machine with a 2.6 kernel, also with both LiveCD's

Actual Results:  
kernel doesn't load mouse

Expected Results:  
working mouse device

What exactly are you looking for?

The mouse device, /dev/input/mice, should be working fine and works perfectly for me with a PS/2 mouse.

Explain what you're expecting a little better and REOPEN.
