Description Slippy Gecko 2004-11-22 03:56:09 UTC
Initially can't see the harddrive on hdc so to install it you have to mknod for each partition - i.e; for hdc3 mknod /dev/hdc3 b 22 3, and for hdc 4 mknod /dev/hdc4 b 22 4

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot install disk on amd64 system
2.fdisk /dev/hdc

Actual Results:
/dev/hdc does not exist

Expected Results:
accessed /dev/hdc

This only happens on amd64 universall install cd, x86 universal install cd is
fine. Didn't test minimal install cd.

Have you tested the 2004.3 LiveCD? If 2004.3 is the LiveCD you're having trouble with, reopen this bug.

2004.2 had a known problem with loading ide-disk. If you are using the 2004.2 liveCD, then please issue the following command once you've booted from the CD:

modprobe ide-disk
