Above kernel bugzilla report has a patch for this issue. Only the kernel patch is needed - the smb* patches are not needed.
Kernel: 2.6.9-r4
Samba: 3.0.8

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. smbmount with uid/gid setting
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
The uid/gid settings are ignored

Expected Results:  
The uid/gid settings should be honored as per the command to smbmount
