It seems that new app-text/texlive-core-2020-r1 includes dev-tex/latexdiff and app-text/pdfjam which leads to collisions. On my system while trying to emerge app-text/texlive-core-2020-r1 gives me: * Detected file collision(s): * * /usr/bin/latexdiff * /usr/bin/pdfjam * /usr/bin/latexdiff-vc * /usr/bin/latexrevise * * Searching all installed packages for file collisions... * * Press Ctrl-C to Stop * * dev-tex/latexdiff-1.3.0:0::gentoo * /usr/bin/latexdiff * /usr/bin/latexdiff-vc * /usr/bin/latexrevise * * app-text/pdfjam-2.08-r1:0::gentoo * /usr/bin/pdfjam * * Package 'app-text/texlive-core-2020-r1' NOT merged due to file * collisions. If necessary, refer to your elog messages for the whole * content of the above message. It seems a block is needed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge dev-tex/latexdiff app-text/pdfjam 2. emerge =app-text/texlive-core-2020-r1
It was my fault, texlive really had to remove these tools and rather provide separate packages, will fix it.

All fixed in 2020-r2 (have just pushed into the tree).
Not fixed yet. There's still a collision with app-text/epspdf-0.6.3-r1:0::gentoo (file: /usr/bin/epspdftk) in app-text/texlive-core-2020-r3.
similar collisions happens with: dev-tex/latexmk (file /usr/bin/latexmk) dev-tex/glossaries (file /usr/bin/makeglossaries) dev-tex/pdfannotextractor (file /usr/bin/pdfannotextractor)
