Description Abraham Marin Perez 2004-11-20 04:53:59 UTC
I tried to update openoffice to the latest available version, 1.1.3, but it failed when building libstlport_gcc_stldebug.so.4.5, arguing that [...]/GCCx86/DebugSTLD/codecvt.o has a not recognized format. Here is the whole error message:

Comment 1 Abraham Marin Perez 2004-11-20 04:56:51 UTC
Although they fail at totally different places, this bug seems to be related with bugs #68108 and #68770.
Comment 2 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-20 05:11:39 UTC
Why do you think this has anything in common with the other bugs?
Comment 3 Abraham Marin Perez 2004-11-23 00:49:42 UTC
Well, they all seem to fail while compiling some component that uses or is related with the STL port of OOo. In fact, I also tried to emerge openoffice-1.1.1 (after realising that 1.1.3 didn't work) and failed arguing that a file related with the STL port didn't have the right format... I don't exactly remember which file was it, but I can check it if necessary.

Of course I may be wrong and all bugs may be totally independent, but I think this coudl be a start...
Comment 4 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-16 08:46:16 UTC
Do you still get that with more recent versions of OOo?
Comment 5 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-24 02:59:58 UTC
Need info, until then: Closing. Please reopen, if you still get it.
Comment 6 Abraham Marin Perez 2005-01-24 15:11:51 UTC
I don't have access to the computer where it used to fail, so I can't say whether it still fails or doesn't. It did work with the computer I'm using at the moment, so maybe it's already fixed (it's a Compaq Evo N1000v).

I'll report any new.
