After upgading from Gnome 2.6.x to 2.8.0, all binary ftp transfers with Nautilus fail. It seems that Nautilus is defaulting to ASCII. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. How do you mean "all binary ftp transfers with Nautilus fail"? Does nautilus fail to copy the file? or is the file copied unusable because it's been copied in ascii instead of binary? Neither of these is true for me, if I copy a binary file (such as an executable) to a remote server using nautilus' ftp, it copies fine. And then when I download it, once I set +x it runs perfectly.
Nevertheless, you seem to not be the only one - check: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155271 Closing UPSTREAM, we'll keep an eye on that bug.
