Worked with the bundeled zoom client from their download site yes. I am on wayland / sway. I did try i3/x11 and same problem.

What happens if you copy attached file to /usr/share/applications/zoom-zoom.desktop, then run "update-desktop-database /usr/share/applications"?
hmm, no go. I dont launch it that way either. I just run zoom from command line. Zoom needs to launch a web browser for the SSO login, and you don't have a default browser set... I don't know how to do that outside KDE; in KDE, go into systemsettings, "Default applications", and set a web browser.

Ahh yeah, $xdg-settings get default-web-browser firefox.desktop its set already but I think there are other problems with my default browser setup as some apps work some dont launching links. I will try and hunt those down.

sign in with google or facebook brings up the web browser. so its just the SSO link that is not working. Also not working in KDE or i3.
Does the problem still exist in zoom-5.0.398100.0427?
