Hi folks there are very annoying problems with locale setting of 4 packages that have been there from much times. I found months ago the following workaround to emerge them in this way manually: #> LANG=C emerge (packagename) but I think it is better to record this problem here. My locale is: LANG=it_IT.utf8 LC_CTYPE="it_IT.utf8" LC_NUMERIC="it_IT.utf8" LC_TIME="it_IT.utf8" LC_COLLATE=C LC_MONETARY="it_IT.utf8" LC_MESSAGES="it_IT.utf8" LC_PAPER="it_IT.utf8" LC_NAME="it_IT.utf8" LC_ADDRESS="it_IT.utf8" LC_TELEPHONE="it_IT.utf8" LC_MEASUREMENT="it_IT.utf8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="it_IT.utf8" LC_ALL= The packages are (AFAIK) the flollowing (I don't know if it is better to open a different bug for each of them): 1. /dev-texlive/texlive-basic 2. kde-apps/kaccounts-providers 3. kde-apps/ktp-accounts-kcm 4. kde-frameworks/purpose The output in complilation are different. For instance for /dev-texlive/texlive-basic Transcript written on pdfetex.log. fmtutil [INFO]: /var/tmp/portage/dev-texlive/texlive-basic-2019-r1/work/texmf-var/web2c/pdftex/pdfetex.fmt installed. fmtutil [INFO]: --- remaking dviluatex with luatex fmtutil: running `luatex -ini -jobname=dviluatex -progname=dviluatex dviluatex.ini' ... I just find another package with the same problem dev-texlive/texlive-latex
It is sad to read that you have problems with the software, but I do not understand this report. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis. We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3]. I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4]. Collect as much information as you can. I suggest to pick one famous package and open one bug ticket with the help of the community. If we found out how to describe the problem, additional bugs can be opened. Always one ticket per package. I can create a tracker for you and link all together then. Prepare all logfiles as in https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Attach_the_logs_to_the_bug_ticket Please open a new ticket in order to provide an indication for an specific error in an ebuild or any gentoo related product.
