Description Lapo Calamandrei 2002-08-28 07:13:06 UTC
the application in topic works nicely here, the lockups using X in 16 bit are
related to #4518 and they disappear disabling dri, so I believe it should be
tagged ppc
Comment 1 Mark Guertin 2002-08-28 10:58:22 UTC
Last I tried this exact version it was badly broken, none of the GUI elements
worked properly, it only played from command line on ppc. Can you please double
check this aspect works? i.e. the play button, the list loading, etc did
nothing,a nd some buttons even segfaulted.
Comment 2 Lapo Calamandrei 2002-08-28 11:33:24 UTC
the gui is still preliminary in mplayer and not compiled by default in their
source tarball, should we care about the gui atm?

Comment 4 Mark Guertin 2002-08-30 13:18:15 UTC
I added ppc to keywords, but IMHO it's not ready for ppc. It caused many
problems on my system, and in fact worked for less than half of the 'supported'
codecs
Comment 5 Lapo Calamandrei 2002-09-03 04:00:53 UTC
which are the codecs not working for you? All sort of mpegs works nicely here
(divx too). Newer realmedia doesn't work, but it works only with the binary
codecs from rp8/realone on x86.

you are correct about the gui. i dont use the gui so i didnt notice it.

but like Lapo said, the gui is preliminary. lots of the functions just give a
message box saying, ``not implemented (yet)''.

one thing of note is when the physical memory is nearly full, i get this wierd
sound effect when playing dvd's. basically, it sounds like blitty-echo, like the
sampling is getting messed up. it corrects itself after a few minutes time.
