This patch/site would make a nice addition to Gentoo I think (While many of us
use SMB to share files@home anyway):

Can you describe more specifically what this patch does to enhance SMBFS?

I generally use NFS for what it seems to make possible.  Thanks.

This is one of the additions I've made to my patchset which will be integrated into lolo-sources soon.
