I see the same in my unstable chroot on sparc. Interestingly the test passes in my stable chroot.
I can't reproduce on my ~amd64 system.

That would be weird (unless it's a problem with some dep). Would you be able to test it in a clear chroot/docker image? If we knew it's due to some other package being installed, that'd be a good first step towards figuring it out.
