As a workaround, temporarily disable the rsync-verify USE on sys-apps/portage so it won't pull in gemato

There is something I don't understand, portage/emerge is using python When I look into the tree python require EAPI7 whatever version dev-lang/python/python-3.7.6.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-3.6.10.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-3.7.7.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-2.7.17-r1.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-3.9.0_alpha5.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-3.9.0_alpha4.ebuild:EAPI="7" dev-lang/python/python-3.8.2.ebuild:EAPI="7" but portage doesn't have one version for EAPI7 portage-2.3.69.ebuild:EAPI=5 portage-2.3.89-r1.ebuild:EAPI=5 portage-2.3.94.ebuild:EAPI=5 portage-2.3.95.ebuild:EAPI=5 portage-2.3.96-r1.ebuild:EAPI=5 portage-9999.ebuild:EAPI=6 and when you try to emerge it complains that all ebuild that could satisfy python are masked by EAPI7 (previous post)

It is sad to read that you have problems with the software. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis. We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. The bug tracker aims rather on specific problems in .ebuilds and less on individual systems. I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3]. I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4]. Please reopen the ticket in order to provide an indication for an specific error in an ebuild or any gentoo related product. hi Alexander, I have tried it but without luck :S USE="-rsync-verify" emerge -1 --exclude dev-lang/python portage Calculating dependencies... done! Please come chat on the IRC and we can help you out there. This is not the place for troubleshooting, unfortunately (either in the sense of medium or suitability).
