Description Georg Schild 2004-11-15 12:28:33 UTC
when i try to upload a file via a button which opens the save-file-dialog i get the following error from gecko:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: chrom://global/content/filepicker.xul
Line Number 1, Column 1:

- -->
^
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to close the window, otherwise it is not possible to work with mozilla anymore, the window blocks it. mozilla runs fine otherwise. did not find any other syntax errors.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on a link with the right mouse button
2. choose Save As
3. see what happens

Your profile is corrupted. This is unfortunately not something we can fix.

You can try this procedure which is less invasive. If it works, please let me know. If it doesn't, then try the second procedure which will definitely work.

First try:
   quit mozilla
emerge mozilla-launcher (make sure you have version 1.23+)
   (as root) touch /usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin
   mozilla

Second try:
   quit mozilla
   mv .mozilla .mozilla-$(date +%Y%m%d)
   mozilla
