Description Niki Kovacs 2002-08-27 11:54:04 UTC
I setup my printer (an old HP Deskjet 610C) with CUPS and HPIJS drivers. So
far, I have just a rather minimal install.

1) CUPS test page comes out nice.

2) Non-KDE apps such as Mozilla or Opera will print OK.

3) KDE apps (tested: KEdit, KWord, Konqueror) will freeze everytime I try to
open the print menu.

I have about 8 months Linux experience ( = average user). I posted this
problem to the otherwise very responsive Gentoo forum, without getting any
clues. Then I went to the linuxprinting.org forum and posted it there, and
some guru informed me that "this was clearly a KDE bug".

I have KDE 3, the version that came on the portage tree a week or so ago.

Regards,

Niki Kovacs
