Since "xmms-1.2.10-r9", it doesn't show up the seek slider when playing ".wav" files ("mp3" works fine). I've only tried files with "16 Bit/44,1 KHz" ripped from an audio CD, but I can imagine that this problem could exist with other rates too. Odd: Selecting "Skin-Browser" in options menu fixes that problem as long as I select another track. I went back to "xmms-1.2.10-r5"... this version runs fine without any problems. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a ".wav" file 2. Play ".wav" file Actual Results: No slider available! Expected Results: Show up slider so that I can seek in file... :-)
Some additional informations: It also shows no running time in display when playing ".wav" files. But if you select the options menu => everything shows up (time + slider).
what plugin are you using for playing .wav files?
Hi Jeremy! > what plugin are you using for playing .wav files? I'm using the default input plugin "libwav.so" distributed with the xmms package ("/usr/lib/xmms/Input/libwav.so"), and "OSS" for output. The only thing is that "xmms-1.2.10-r9" doesn't show a seek bar, neither a running time while playing ".wav" files. But I can play them... As I said, going back to "xmms-1.2.10-r5" has fixed this, so the problem seems to be in one of the new patches since "> gentoo-patches-1.0". Just a guess... :-) Regards, Marco
ok, can youu make such a .wav that this occurs with availible somewhere for me to download please. So much has changed since -r5 that it's best to just debug rather than guess the culprit.
Hi Jeremy! Sorry, I had too much work the last few days... Here's a 30 second extract from c-moon's "Together" (which I'm the drummer of) :-) http://home.arcor.de/piazza/c_moon-together.zip Hth... Regards, Marco
Ok, I've got the file, but I am away for Thanksgiving, so I can't test it out. I'll be getting to it after some alsa-sparc related madness hopefully next week...
Haven't had much time to debug this one... I wish upstream was alive as the problem is in xmms cvs, not one of the gentoo specific patches... if you could help find the bug, it'd help alot =)
bumping back to sound@ ... this is a problem introduced by the cvs sync-up patch, so it's best to look in there...
Can you please try xmms-1.2.10-r10
Great! That's fixed it! This problem was really bugging me, it was effecting all my files randomly, not just wavs.
I just wanted to say thank you again because this allowed me to play a completely flawless set at the local rock club tonight!
It's also fixed here, working fine again... Thank you, Jeremy! Marco
yay... die bug, die =)
