When doing an emerge of udev-043, not all of the docs are copied to /usr/doc/udev-043 In particular, the docs under persistent_naming and writing_udev_rules are not copied. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge udev 2. check /var/tmp/portage/udev-043/work/udev-043/docs/ 3. compare the files contained against /usr/doc/udev-043/ 4. note the missing docs Actual Results: Missing some docs Expected Results: All docs would be present in /usr/doc/udev-043/ I don't think it's pertinent. This was done on an x86 system but probably is the same for other architectures as well
Care to provide a patch to the ebuild to add those documents to the package?
Need a patch for this, please reopen when you have one and attach it.
The fix is to add the following line after line 117 in udev-043.ebuild dodoc docs/persistent_naming/* docs/writing_udev_rules/* This will add all the missing docs to /usr/doc/udev-043 Regards John
Created attachment 44307 [details, diff] Patch for udev-043 I created a patch for this as requested by Greg (We better let him hack on udev rather than wasting his time with ebuilds ;). I also added the file docs/libsysfs.txt to the list of files to put into the documentation directory of udev-043.
Created attachment 44308 [details, diff] Patch for udev-044 As as above for udev-044
Created attachment 44309 [details, diff] Patch for udev-045 And a patch for udev-045
Created attachment 44310 [details, diff] Patch for udev-046 And last but not least the patch for the newly released udev-046
Thanks, I've applied this and it will show up in the next udev release.
