Description Greg Loscombe 2004-11-14 11:59:17 UTC
Created a new eclass called games-etmod - basically a clone of the games-q3mod, but for Enemy Territory. Looks to be a few nice mods on the horrizon for ET, inc:

http://bani.anime.net/etpro/ - ETPro
http://etfgame.com - Enemy Territory Fortress
http://www.truecombat.com/intro.php - True Combat

I've also included an ebuild for ET:ETPro

Too bad you don't have one for True Combat, too... *grin*

Updated eclass for modet

Updated ebuild - changed the fact that I'd made the daft assumption that all
dedicated servers would want to start with the map 'battery' and made them exec
server.cfg instead (should either be in the subdir of the mod, or be included
in files when installed)

Alpha (test 1) version of True Combat ebuild

Not fully tested as a client, mainly tried as a dedicated server (will test
client tonight)

ive been avoiding this because i'm *hoping* there's a way we can create a 'games-idmod' which would handle Q1/Q2/Q3/Doom3/ET/Wolf/etc...
Comment 7 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-30 16:32:20 UTC
That would be very nice... though I think it might be a good idea to just drop this into portage until there is one. Since we are th eonly ones that will use it, all we have to do is change the ebuilds when we make the new eclass and not have to worry about backwards compatability, since we aren't replacing any of the removal functions.

I actually was planning on getting this into portage some time soon, especially now that I have the ut2k4mod stuff in portage.

Added to CVS along with ET Pro and True Combat mods... thanks a ton!
