Description Lars Hesdorf 2004-11-14 11:51:51 UTC
After upgrading to microcode_ctl 1.11, I had to change

/etc/conf.d/microcode_ctl:
##MICROCODE_DEV="/dev/microcode"
MICROCODE_DEV="/dev/cpu/microcode"

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot without the changes
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It works OK again.

Also "emerge -pv --newuse --deep world" did not catch that microcode_ctl 1.11
was ready still was on 1.08.

the reason the conf.d file exists is so that you can set the device to whatever exists on your system

some systems have /dev/microcode (like mine) while others dont (like yours)
