Thankfan has its command line options coded in /etc/init.d/thinkfan instead of in /etc/conf.d/thinkfan:

In /etc/init.d/thinkfan:
command_args="-q -s5 -c /etc/thinkfan.conf"

This line should be in /etc/conf.d/thinkfan , according to the OpenRC's guidelines at https://github.com/OpenRC/openrc/blob/master/user-guide.md#the-magic-of-confd .
