Description Fabian Sturm 2004-11-14 04:21:29 UTC
I did everything as explained in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/udev-guide.xml
to switch to udev. But it did not work because I had a initrd from genkernel which did not support udev.
So I think it would be wise to add a sentence to this:
"Kernelwise, if you're using the default set by genkernel then you're all set. "
to
"Kernelwise, if you're using the default set by genkernel then you're all set as long as you ran genkernel with --udev or you are not using genkernels initial ramdisk to boot."

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge udev and reboot
2.
3.

Actual Results:
devfsd was mounted instead of udev

Ah yes, thanks. Fixed in CVS.
