People who has an ATI Radeon hav no gensplash wit the "< > ATI radeon display support" option. Only the "< > ATI radeon display support (Old driver)" work with gensplash. Spock, this is a thing for the next versions. With "< > ATI radeon display support (Old driver)" the people have gensplash, but I think that the old driver is obsolet. More I can't say because I have a nVidia-card. I thank you for gensplash ;) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

It's definitely something I would like to get working, but we might have to wait for that for some time (at least a few weeks).
You might want to take a look at the latest fbsplash patch (http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/gensplash/archive/fbsplash-0.9.1-2.6.10-rc3-bk6.patch) . It includes a fix for color corruption problems in DIRECTCOLOR modes (which affected mostly radeonfb users).
The fbsplash patch seems to work fine using radeonfb on ppc with 2.6.10-rc3-bk6. It solved two issues that were prevalent when running gensplash with radeonfb on 2.6.9 kernels (ppc): 1. colour corruption in DIRECTCOLOR modes. (The fix in the patch resolved this issue when also applied against 2.6.9 kernels) 2. the initial switch from silent mode to verbose mode did not paint the verbose mode background. The verbose mode background would only begin to appear behind characters as they were displayed. This leaves the fb in a messy state - anywhere a character had been displayed shows the verbose background; anywhere a character had not been displayed shows the silent background. As mentioned previously, both these issues were fixed with the latest patch. It's good to have gensplash working on ppc. :)
I'm closing the bug as the problem is fixed in g-d-s-2.6.10, which includes the latest version of fbsplash.
