Description subtleandprofound 2004-11-13 08:59:43 UTC
The installation of libxml2 is required by emerge -u world I've disabled distcc in /etc/make.conf but I still get this error.

This is what portage has to say:

can python folk have a look ?
Comment 2 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-15 12:16:53 UTC
hrmm .. i can't reproduce. the xmllib warning is non-fatal, but it seems to imply that there's malformed xml in libxml2-api.xml and/or libxml2-python-api.xml. both seems to be fine for me.
Comment 3 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-10 21:37:19 UTC
Try the newest libxml2
Comment 4 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-20 03:58:46 UTC
Assuming the newest version fixed.

reopen due to another person with same issue

I get the exact same error with the newest dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.23 on x86 stable. You can see the output in the Gentoo forums:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-425605.html

The earlier version 2.6.22 didn't have this error when I compiled it last year.

Reporters,
Can you still reproduce this problem with recent version of python and libxml2?
