Arches, please stabilize this version. The last upstream version was around for 5+ years, and hopefully this one (that I've taken over as upstream) lasts just as long.

There's no test suite yet, and if I knew how to tell you to test it, I would have just written that down and made it the test suite. So for now a build test suffices.
