Description Justin Metcalfe 2004-11-12 16:14:54 UTC
Upon rebooting to run a new kernel, I found my system unbootable. The standard kernel init stuff goes by, but after the "Freeing Unused Kernel Memory" message, it all just stops. I tried booting the old kernel and that did the same thing. The livecd boots just fine and the filesystem is good. I've tried re-merging baselayout and sysvinit, both of which were successful. I really not sure what the problem is and I'd just really love some help. I'm able to boot when passing "init=/bin/bash" but the keyboard doesn't work, so I'm stuck with a prompt and nothing else.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn computer on
2. Cry myself to sleep at night.
Actual Results:
It stops booting after "Freeing Unused Kernel Memory"

Expected Results:
continued booting..

Not really enough information here and this isn't the place for general help. Please take it to the forums at forums.gentoo.org or the mailing lists.
