No euro char mapping in italian (and other, I believe) keymap. Home page in the ebuild is wrong the right one is "http://lct.sourceforge.net/data.html". Linux console tool is ancient and unmaintained for a log time (I believe), why don't apply the debian patch which add euro support ad some nice keymaps? link to the patch (from sid) : http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/c/console-data/console-data_1999.08.29-24.diff.gz
I've commited console-data-1999.08.29-r3.ebuild and masked it, please try it and check if you get the euro char. Please make a comment here if it works or not so I can unmask it.
Sorry, I just found out I didn't add the new files to the tree yesterday. Just did now.
the italian keymap still won't work, I'm doing a new one, I'll submit it here ASAP, the us one works fine, btw are you sure the ebuild is correct, I don't have a debian at hand but is you look in /usr/share/keymaps/* the are *.kmap.gz and +.map.gz, is this correct?
Created attachment 3705 [details] it-x.kmap.gz italian keymap like the XFree86 one
I think we're changing the wrong package. What is your KEYMAP value in /etc/rc.conf?
actually it-x which is keymap i posted here, what's the point?
what news, gentlemen?

Uhm, console-data is obsolete, and will be removed (should have). If you need changes, please check if kbd do not have what you want, or add wahtever there ...
console-data is gone now. This should probably be closed now (unless it's here to win some longest open bug contest).
and so what if it is? :P
