Ok, I actually sort of know the answer: it is to enable corba support in xine-ui. But, as far as I can tell from the xine-ui bug reports, corba support is no longer actively supported. Although there are some remnants of ORBit and corba support in the source tree, there is no mention of orbit or corba in the configure script, or config.h. The source directory (src/corba) is empty. I have just successfully configured and built this version of xine-ui without first installing orbit-0.5.17 and it went through fine. (Ok, I didn't use ebuild, but I've carefully looked at the config logs and there is no mention of corba or orbit *anywhere*.) I suspect that the current dependency on ORBit is a dead one, and could (should?) be removed. Phil
I see the same problem, When remove orbit-0.5.xx run revdep-rebuild and it not found nothing deps in xine
