wmxmms fails to start. When executed from the terminal it prints the following: Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) serial 121 error_code 8 request_code 62 minor_code 0 The version of xmms I am running is: xmms-1.2.10-r5 This is the wmxmms that comes with xmmms not the extra wmxmms package, WMxmms.

Whoops, sorry about the duplicate. When I was writing this I hit enter for a new line but I must have been in the wrong field somehow. I hit stop, but I guess not in time. I've had this bug for awhile, but having tried the alternatives in portage, I would really rather have this version of the tool working.
Uhm, it is working fine here... I suggest you try re-emerging your gtk+ library, then xmms, and see if you still have the issue.
Wow, that did the trick! No more errors! Thanks! Strange that this happened though.
Probably some other library upgrade broke your gtk+ installation. You should run 'revdep-rebuild' from time to time...
ok, and what do we do when re-emerging libraries doesnt seem to do the trick ? ive re-emerge gtk/atk/pango/xmms and i still get this: $ xmms -p Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) serial 225 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code 0
I'm no gtk+ wizard, but... Are you running on x86? Your emerge info? Stuff that is worth of note?
