"Chris, if you are still interested in having the tar version used over the RPM, open another bug and assign it to me." Well, the RPM-based ICAClient doesn't work properly on a Gentoo system when connecting to a Citrix host that requires an encrypted connection. However, my install using the tarball works perfectly.
I suspect this is the same problem that I had. RPM version said that is couldn't find a SSL library, looked at all of the files in the RPM with 'ldd' no library was missing. Because of this bug report, tried the tar file (just installed over the emerge/RPM version in /opt/ICAClient) and it worked. Looks like the RPM version is favored because it doesn't ask to approve a license, but as far as I am concerned, it didn't work. Could there be a dependency that is missed with the RPM version? had emerge/RPM version 8.0-r1 installed - didn't work, upgraded to 8.0-r2, still no go, then I tried the tar version. Thanks tim
Thanks for the notes. I probably won't have much time to look into this until Thursday night at the earliest, but feel free to keep posting any findings you come up with.
Created attachment 43939 [details] new icaclient ebuild revision with encryption support Hey guys, please try out this new version of the ebuild and see if it fixes your problems. It appears to be working here but the server I have to test against is currently in maintainence mode.
Assuming this is fixed as this new attached version of the ebuild WORKSFORME. Feel free to re-open if that's not the case.
WORKSFORME, too. Now all you need to do is copy the icon (citrix48.xpm) to /usr/share/pixmaps from /opt/ICAClient/icons and add a make_desktop_entry so we get pretty clicky in the Gnome/KDE menu... :P
