After emerge I see this message:

 * Please either fix the upstream build system to byte-compile Python modules

OK, that happens with every currently available ebuild.

Does this still happen? I find that version 2.5.3 is fine wrt this bug on amd64.

This seems to be fixed in the currently available versions.
