Description Clemens Schwaighofer 2004-11-08 00:43:17 UTC
when I kill my running kinput2 it crashes all KDE applications. It does not crash KDE itself, it just makes it restart Kicker, and killa ll running kde apps (eg kopete, korganizer, konsole, etc). All other non-kde (gtk2 applications) are untouched by it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. killall kinput2
2. kde apps crash
3.

Expected Results:
not crashing KDE apps

Comment 1 Mamoru KOMACHI (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-08 22:24:28 UTC
kinput2 is known to cause problems with KDE apps....
Try compiling qt-3.3.1-r1 with USE="immqt-bc",
and then emerge uim-qt. (uim doesn't support
freewnn but canna, though)
Comment 2 Clemens Schwaighofer 2004-11-09 06:04:26 UTC
thanks a lot for the tip. thought on my debian at home I never had any problem, but I'll give that a try. kinput2 is nice, but well ... anything is better than this sometimes :)
