I've emerged Thunderbird 0.9 and now it won't run as a user. I get the message 'No running windows found' and that's it. As root, it runs fine. I've been running thunderbird for months now, so my profile is rather large. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Thunderbird 0.8 works fine. 2. Emerge 0.9 3. Get error. "3. Get error" What's the error? Please be as descriptive and detailed as you can. Remember: too much information is better than too little. =)
Whoops. I'm stupid, I didn't read the enitre bug report. >_< Sorry about that, Have you tried removing your compreg.dat file? (in ~/.thunderbird/default/<bunch of numbers>/ on my box)
That did it. Now it runs, but the fonts are no longer anti-aliased and look funny.
This is fixed in the current mozilla-launcher, which automatically deletes compreg.dat when thunderbird is upgraded. I've marked mozilla-launcher-1.22 stable and updated the dependency in mozilla.eclass so hopefully this won't bite anybody else. Thanks for the report.
I'm not sure that this is fixed. Just upgraded to thunderbird 0.9-r1 and still had to delete the compreg.dat file by hand to get it to run.
Stuart, a couple of questions for you... 1. epm -q mozilla-launcher (you might need to emerge epm first) 2. Were you running thunderbird while upgrading it? If so, then exiting thunderbird at the end of your session might have written out a new compreg.dat. In that case mozilla-launcher would not have noticed the update. I might need to put a timestamping mechanism into mozilla-launcher if this is what happened. Thanks.
Old bug, no response from submitter, probably no longer a problem.
