In order for me to finally get mono and friends marked stable, I'll be needing at an icu of 2.6.2 or greater marked stable on x86. I think ideally, 2.6.2 (which was released in Feb.) would be added to portage ~x86, and marked stable after a few weeks of testing. (2.6 has been stable for a while, and 2.6.2 is apparently only a minor update). If it's easier just to mark 2.8 stable on x86, that would work too (people using the ~x86 mono currently are forced to use 2.8, and it has been working fine). If nobody wants to step up and do this (as icu seems mildly un-maintained (no metadata.xml file)) then I'll do it.
have fun ;)
I've just added 2.6.2 to the tree. Will hopefully give that a couple weeks testing, then mark it stable on x86. Life made easier by 2.6 being stable for ages, and very few ebuilds actually depping on icu.
