Created attachment 595852 [details] ebuild I haven't modified the ebuild at all, just bumped the version number. Normally I get the Release file via the URL https://content.runescape.com/downloads/ubuntu/trusty/Release but this gives a file not found. The Packages file and deb file are as they were so no download changes were required.
runescape-launcher was removed from the tree with: https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/commit/f03ba2029f7208f522cbff631862d008d8493bfd So, version bump would not be appropriate, rather a new package. However, looking at the discussion in #625884, the problem was not the installation, but the fact that the source file was not a static version. And in that bug, no indication was given that this would be solved upstream.
Dam, I hadn't looked at https://bugs.gentoo.org/625884 for a while, and yes there is no way to contact upstream.
