I found some trouble ripmime-1.4.0.0 Im using qmail / qmail-scanner / ripmime / clamav for email server. sometime fails attachment Japanese code file name. 1.4.0.0 seems no-compatible 2byte-code charset filenames. Im downgrade to ripmime-1.3.2.3. it works fine. and old reformime(from maildrop) dont cause this problem too. --from my qmail-box LOG /var/log/qmail/qmail-smtp/current 2004-11-02 17:08:04.833696500.s:@40000000418734030e9f89b4 X-Qmail-Scanner-1.23st:[e-mail109937970566515377] d_m: output spotted from /usr/bin/ripmime --unique_names -i - -d /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/e-mail109937970566515377/ (mime.c:1627:MIME_decode_64:ERROR: Cannot open output file /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/e-mail109937970566515377/郵政民営化041101ゥ曄璽ムゥ據璽ジ.doc for BASE64 decoding. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.from Outlook express.attach Japanised (Kanji) filenamed file. 2.send that mail from: another ISP ,to Gentoo box (with qmail-scanner/ripmime) 3.fails with smtp error, or silent but mail not deliver. Actual Results: from gentoo box: error logged but not report client outlook and not send this mail from remote ISP: Outlook reports simply "This mail failed to send".
please try ripmime-1.4.0.5 to see if it has been fixed.
thanks info. Now testing ripmime-1.4.0.5 on live mail server. if it seems works fine, I will report it here. (wait a week)
So what's the status on this one?
tested 10days my live qmail gentoo box . not reported attachment trouble from user. 1.4.0.5 seems work fine. I hope 1.4.0.0 marks ~x86 until 1.4.0.5 become stable.
I have just marked 1.4.0.5 stable for x86, feel free to reopen if the problem persists.
