During the boot I end up with kernel error. It never happened to me with previous kernels. I only migrated my 5.2.X config to 5.3.X using make oldconfig. I can still boot 5.2.20. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to boot system 2. End up with error

Comment on attachment 595840 [details] screenshot - end I took picture vertically. Horizontal screen with the modules was blurred and probably is not that needed. But I can provide it in case of need.

Info above is from kernel 5.2.20

If you can reproduce on vanilla-sources, please report to upstream.
Hello. I tried this: 5.2.20 - gentoo sources - compiled by genkernel-next with initrd - boots 5.3.11 - downloaded manually from kernel.org, compiled manually without initrd - boots 5.3.11 - gentoo sources - compiled by genkernel-next with initrd - doesn't boot 5.3.11 - gentoo sources - compiled by genkernel-next without initrd - doesn't boot 5.3.11 - vanilla sources - compiled by genkernel-next with initrd - doesn't boot 5.3.11 - vanilla sources - compiled by genkernel-next without initrd - doesn't boot So it seems, that genkernel-next 69 with plymouth flag has problem with kernel 5.3.

5.3.11 - gentoo sources - compiled by genkernel-next 70 with initrd - doesn't boot
4.19.82-gentoo - gentoo sources - compiled by genkernel-next 69 with initrd - boots
Are you capable of doing a git bisect between the last working 5.2 and a non-working 5.3 kernel ? http://www.reactivated.net/weblog/archives/2006/01/using-git-bisect-to-find-buggy-kernel-patches/
I've never done that. But given the fact, that manually compiled kernel 5.3.11 boots well, this is probably not needed and genkernel seems to be the problem.
can you try gentoo-sources-5.3.11 without genkernel if so ?
