Gentoo usually stabilizes packages after 30 days:

until there are annoying bugs that would warrant faster stabilization. Are there any?

List of fixed bugs may be found here
http://erlang.org/download/otp_versions_tree.html

When it come to question whenever are they serious enough... It were serious enough for author's of the Erlang to release new version. I don't feel qualified to play down opinion of the erlang community.

However I do process terabytes of data by new version and no problems so far.

We are already moving to 22.1.6.

Gentoo's stabilization rules are not based on stabilization rules of upstream. Gentoo des not do 0-day stabilization unless there good reasons for it. Examples that would warrant quick stabilization are:
- exploitable vulnerabilities
- known cases of unusable release for a gentoo user (any bug reports on bugs.gentoo.org)

If we have none of the above 30 day delay is usually a good guideline. It's a nice time period to expose unexpected software incompatibilities by ~arch users.

More than a month in the tree. Let's go ahead with stabilization.
