Probably due to USE=openmp. Does gcc build fine if you disable it via package.use?

Normally crossdev disables openmp for cross-compilers on it's own. Make sure you have it:

$ fgrep gcc /etc/portage/package.use/cross-avr
cross-avr/gcc ... -openmp ...

Thank you, this worked. Over the years, I've accumulated the following:

# cross-avr
cross-avr/binutils -selinux multilib
cross-avr/avr-libc -selinux multilib
cross-avr/gcc -fortran -go -selinux -boundschecking -d -gtk -libffi -mudflap -objc -objc++ -objc-gc -pie -vtv multilib -sanitize -openmp

Not sure it's all still needed but now the -openmp addition became necessary. It may be useful to document this someplace for those who start the AVR development on Gentoo from scratch.
Comment 5 Sergei Trofimovich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2019-11-07 20:05:28 UTC
crossdev already generates those entries. When starting from scratch it should not pop up.
