Description Rod MacCallum 2004-11-03 07:12:55 UTC
When running a version of MySQL > 4.0.18-r2, a properly constructed MySQL db cannot be edited, querys cannot be created, using OpenOffice 1.1.x. The database is fully editable using mysql commandline, MySQLcc. Other pertinant packages:
dev-db/myodbc-3.51.06
dev-db/unixODBC-2.2.6

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade to mysql 4.0.20, 21, 22
2.
3.

Actual Results:
OpenOffice database window shows database, does not allow for editing

Expected Results:
OpenOffice should allow the ODBC database to be editable

I can replicate the problem for MySQL >= 4.0.21 and 4.0.22. Cannot replicate it for MySQL = 4.0.20.

Using OpenOffice 1.1.3, myodbc-3.51.06 and unixODBC-2.2.6.

If someone sends me the 4.0.19 tarball, I am happy to test it.

You are probably correct, the problem may just be with 4.0.21 and 4.0.22. Looking in /var/tmp/portage, I never used 4.0.19. I re-emerged several times and may not have retried 4.0.20. Sorry if this has caused a problem.

ist this still a problem with the current mysql and OOo?
Comment 4 Rod MacCallum 2005-01-23 18:09:58 UTC
Yes, MySQL 4.0.22-r2 and OO 1.1.4
Comment 5 Rod MacCallum 2005-03-14 19:17:26 UTC
Seems as tho 4.0.24 solves this issue.
