emerge GCC has no use flag to make it plugin compatible. This causes a fail in emerging starpu: USE="opencl gcc-plugin" emerge -av starpu result: checking whether GCC supports plug-ins... no configure: error: This compiler lacks GCC plug-in support. Suggestion: add a plugins flag to GCC & add a dependency for starpu so it needs the plugin flag when compiling gcc-plugin

Please attach config.log from the build directory. My guess is that configure is using C compiler instead of C++ compiler to check plugins support.

Thanks! Yeah, it's trying to use C interface to check gcc plugin support. But gcc 4.8+ supports only C++ to build plugins. AFAIS, gcc plugin support was removed from starpu package in other distros (e.g. Debian), so maybe USE=gcc-plugin should be masked or removed in Gentoo as well.
