"gtkada-config --static" gives 
<snip> /usr/lib/libgtkada.a <snip>

but /usr/lib/libgtkada.a doesn't exist. The static library is /usr/lib/ada/libada/gtkada/libgtkada.a. This causes linking errors when the output of gtkada-config is used in a Makefile, for example.

gtkada is version 2.2.1-r1, compiled with USE="nls opengl"

Thanks for bug submission!  
1. Have you tested the 2.4.0 version?  
2. Did you already have gtkada installed? Plz see #45539, it may be related.. 
3. If yes on #2, does this still manifest itself in 2.4.0 version?

Should be fixed in the latest version, with new gnat.
