I get following error while emerging libgdata-0.17.10: gdata/meson.build:193:4: ERROR: Program(s) ['vapigen'] not found or not executable I got it resolved by doing: export VAPIGEN=/usr/bin/vapigen-0.42 But another error appeared: error: Package `goa-1.0' not found in specified Vala API directories or GObject-Introspection GIR directories Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge libgdata 2. 3.

How about 0.7.11?
Please attach the entire build log to this bug report.
I recompiled VALA and now get: gdata/meson.build:193:4: ERROR: Program(s) ['/usr/bin/vapigen-0.42eix'] not found or not executable Anyway I will attach full log

Created attachment 592380 [details] correct-build.log This log is after VALA recompile and VAPIGEN correctly exported. I am going to try unstable package.
Ok, unstable atom works fine for me: dev-libs/libgdata-0.17.11::gentoo
I am fine with unstable version of libgdata at moment and won't bother to resolve this issue.
